1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the NetLume application for iPhone and iPad and the NetLume support website. It does not control the privacy practices of websites or network services that you choose to test or open through the app.
2. Information We Process
3. How Information Is Used
- Run the HTTP, DNS, TCP, HTTPS, and local network checks you request.
- Display results and maintain your local report history.
- Remember app preferences and locally recognized access state.
- Deliver operational configuration, prevent misuse, investigate failures, and maintain service reliability and security.
- Respond to support and privacy inquiries.
4. Storage and Transmission
On-device storage
Completed diagnostic reports are stored in a SwiftData database inside the app's sandbox. Preferences and access state are stored using system preference storage. An app-specific installation identifier may be stored in Keychain. Cached operational configuration may be stored in the app's cache directory.
Network transmission
When you run a diagnostic, the app connects to the URL, host, DNS service, or port you selected. Those destinations and intervening network providers receive the technical information normally required to complete a network request.
For app operation, NetLume may request configuration using the app name and an app-specific installation identifier. If an operational event endpoint is enabled, a limited event may include the app channel, bundle identifier, submitted verification value, and installation identifier. This data is used for app functionality, security, and reliability, not for advertising.
6. Retention
Local reports remain until you delete an individual report, clear report history, or uninstall the app. Preferences, access state, cached configuration, and the installation identifier remain until removed by the app, operating system, or uninstall process.
Operational server records are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for functionality, security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations.
7. Your Choices
- Turn off saving scan history in Settings.
- Delete individual reports or clear all report history.
- Avoid running a diagnostic against any destination you do not want to contact.
- Delete NetLume to remove data stored in the app container. Some Keychain items may be managed separately by the operating system.
- Contact us to ask a privacy question or request help concerning operational data.
8. Security
We use platform storage protections and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
NetLume is a general-purpose network utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when NetLume's functionality or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
